01 About Us
Whole Health
NBBJ developed a design framework for healthy, high-performing healthcare environments called “Whole Health.” It’s the notion that design can be a transformative tool to reshape how and where care is provided, creating a healthier, more productive and purposeful experience.
01 About Us
The Components
of Whole Health
Whole health is the perspective of how we approach the business of design of the healthcare industry. We achieve this by focusing on two areas: design for performance and
design for wellbeing.
Design for performance, which impacts an overall institution, includes strategies to adapt during uncertain economic cycles, flex in the midst of a pandemic and prepare for a changing
climate. Design for wellbeing, which touches on patients, staff and community, includes ideas to support a fulfilling work experience, encourage patient agency and destigmatize behavioral health.
